Bad Tony's On St Nicks, Restaurant Residencies At Ashton Gate & Ah-Ma's Takeaway

Bad Tony's Opens On St Nicks: Bad Tony's has opened in the Grade II listed former stock exchange building on St Nicholas Street, the old Old India site. It's from the team behind World Famous Dive Bars, who also run Mother's Ruin, The Croft and Good Chemistry Brewing, but it's meant to have an identity of its own. Really Good Burgers run the kitchen, so expect smash burgers, £1 corn dogs and £5 Mezcalitos. There's a cosy basement with sofas downstairs.

Restaurant Residencies At Ashton Gate: Ashton Gate has opened The Residency, a 24-seat dining room on level 3 of the Lansdown Stand with a private balcony over the pitch. Bristol restaurants take turns in the kitchen. The Clifton Sausage are in for October, Little French for November and December, COR and Ragù for January and February, Lapin for March, then Bank for April and May. It's a matchday thing, from £175 a head for Bristol City games and £185 for the Bears.

Ah-Ma's Starts A Takeaway: The Ah-Ma's dumpling team are launching a Cantonese takeaway on Friday 9th October, then running it on Friday and Saturday evenings for the rest of the month. Expect Hong Kong diner comfort food, takeaway standards and Ah-Ma's family favourites. They're doing it without the big apps, with their own bike couriers and drivers, or you can collect from the St Werburghs kitchen. Order slots are limited and get released on Tuesdays at 6pm.

Two Bristol Kitchens In Time Out's 200: Other in Bedminster and Lido in Clifton have both made Time Out's list of the 200 best restaurants in the UK for 2026. It's the second national list for both in a month, after the Good Food Guide's South West rankings in September.

Monthly Pies From The Old Spot: Amy and Phil Roseblade, who've run the Gloucester Old Spot in Horfield since 2014, have launched Bristol Pie Society. New flavours drop on the 1st of each month and orders stay open until the 7th. October's are slow braised British beef, free range chicken, hog roast and truffled wild mushroom. They come frozen, to collect from the pub or shipped nationwide, and you'll also find them at Finzels Reach and Windmill Hill markets.
