New Openings & Recent Reviews

Michelin Mentions, Full Court Press Expands & New Yoghurt Bar

Chandos Road Bags Another Michelin Nod: One Fish Street, the seafood spot that moved from St Ives to Redland last September, has been officially added to the Michelin Guide Selection. Inspectors called Chandos Road one of the best culinary streets in the country, and it's hard to disagree. Go for a massive selection of oysters, red mullet with a piquant shellfish sauce, and high-end tinned fish. The pricing is sensible and the vibe is friendly, making it a brilliant addition to our local food scene.

Next Level Speciality Coffee Bar Opens: Full Court Press has finally opened its long-awaited second premises. Based in a railway arch on Oxford Street in St Philip's, it opened its doors at 8am this morning. There's no food here; it's entirely focused on the coffee. They're rocking an astonishing 16 single-origin coffees on the menu, kept fresh by freezing them immediately after roasting and grinding them to order. Grab a seat and drink from custom mugs made by local ceramicist Rebecca Finnerty.

Award-Winning Breakfasts In Bristol: Small independent spot Budapest Cafe has just been named the Best Breakfast Restaurant in Bristol for 2026 by the Quality Business Awards. It's a huge win for a brilliant little team, so if you haven't been in for your morning eggs and coffee yet, consider this your sign to go support them.

Skatepark Founders Take Over Pub: The team behind Campus Skateboarding and The Dame has taken the reins at Local Bristol on North Street. Renaming it simply The Local, they're keeping the same familiar team behind the bar but shifting to a community-first neighbourhood bar and kitchen style. The front terrace has already had a proper summer glow-up, and they've got a refreshed food menu on the way over the coming months.

Bristol's First Dedicated Yoghurt Bar: Yog Lab has opened up on St Augustine's Parade, calling itself a true yoghurt destination. It's a self-serve setup featuring both Greek and frozen yoghurt, plus over 30 toppings ranging from mango and granola to Oreo crumbs and popping boba. Perfect for a quick, healthy dessert or a sweet treat before catching a show at the Hippodrome.

Upcoming Food Events

Harbour Festivals Waiters' Races, Bottomless Chinese & Country Music Canapés

Harbourfest Waiters' Race Kickoff (19th July): Bristol Harbour Festival is taking over the waterfront this weekend, but there is one bit that has properly caught our eye as something a bit different. It is the city's first ever Waiters' Race, where teams of four will be sprinting through relay challenges while balancing trays of local favourites. It is £50 to enter a team, fancy dress is massively encouraged, and every single penny goes to The Grand Appeal to support the Bristol Children's Hospital. Top prizes are up for grabs if your squad has the skills.

Park Street Bottomless Brunch (25th July): Chinese restaurant Fresh Feast on Park Street is hosting a massive bottomless brunch. Expect endless bites, sips, and proper good energy. They'll be serving up delicious Chinese food alongside bottomless drinks, fun games, and non-stop entertainment. To top it off, a live DJ will be spinning Dancehall, R&B, and Bashment tunes throughout the afternoon. Perfect excuse to gather your mates.

Charcoal Roasted Cantonese BBQ (2nd August): Wangs is getting back into the swing of things with their fourth Canto BBQ session, collaborating with Lap-fai Lee (@oishinboy). They'll be firing up their new ovens to serve charcoal roasted 'Siu Mei', Cantonese roast Iberico pork, crispy pork belly, and duck. There are only three of these summer collab sessions left, so make sure you book in for the 2nd August before it sells out.

Country Music and Canapés (4th August): One Fish Street on Chandos Road is switching up their usual seated restaurant service for a relaxed, standing evening. They're hosting live country music from Rhiannon Paige, accompanied by a generous selection of substantial canapés served throughout the night. Tickets are £35 per person for a 7:30pm start, and space is limited so grab yours quickly if you fancy a mingle.

Bristol Coffee Festival (12th Sept): Looking ahead to Sept, the Bristol Coffee Festival has confirmed its return to the Bristol Beacon from 9:30am to 5:30pm. It's not just about drinking top-tier coffee; they've got an amazing programme packed with talks, debates, and panels on stage. Tickets are officially live in their bio, so secure your spot if you're a proper speciality coffee fan.
