Weekly roundup
The late summer heat has nothing on Bristol's food scene, which is absolutely sizzling this week. We've got news of a much-loved Thai spot finally making its way to Gloucester Road, an Easton favourite returning home, and reviews that might just change your mind about where to find the city's best burger. Here's the rundown.
New Openings & Recent Reviews
New Openings & Rave Reviews: Thai Tapas for Gloucester Road, Easton's Msala Postcode & a "Masterpiece" Burger
Mangosteen: Big news for Gloucester Road! The much-loved Thai tapas spot is opening its third restaurant on the iconic independent strip. They'll be opening their doors on Tuesday, 2nd September. Get it in the diary.
Msala Postcode: The team behind Msala Library are heading back to their roots, opening a new restaurant, Msala Postcode, on High Street in Easton. It's the site of their original restaurant, and they're promising the same traditional Indian dishes and warm hospitality. No firm opening date just yet, but one to watch.

KASK 2: The Bedminster wine bar has officially started work on a second site. No details on where or when just yet, but it's exciting news for fans of their 'no to shit wine' philosophy.
Danny's Burgers: A huge claim from local reviewer @bosfinesse, who declared the recent 'Cuban Frita' special from Danny's Burgers the new best burger in Bristol. It was a one-off for National Burger Day, but it's a testament to the quality coming out of their spot at Fierce & Noble Brewery.
Prime By Pasture: Another glowing burger review, this time for Prime By Pasture. Described as a "masterpiece," both the smash burger and the chicken burger received top marks, with the latter being called the best @roseneats had ever had. High praise indeed.

Local Highlight
Lonely Mouth
There was a review this week that really caught our eye, local foodie @beccaeatingthings calling the breakfast at Lonely Mouth on Gloucester Road "life-changing." That's not a word you throw around lightly! It's a small, unassuming spot, but the food they are producing is genuinely special and a welcome change of pace from the usual brunch offerings.
The review specifically praised the Salted Salmon Chazuke—a delicate dish of flaky salmon on rice, soaked in a green tea soup base—and the Matcha Cream Fresh Toast, which was described as an "otherworldly experience." Lonely Mouth focuses on Japanese style cooking, offering everything from french toast, teishoku and chazuke served all day, to their small plates in the evening. In a city full of great independents, this is exactly the kind of place we should all be supporting. We'd urge you to pay them a visit.
That’s it for this week.
