Bristol Food Newsletter - A New Reign for Bianchis, Clifton's Turkish Delight & Your Mid-Summer Feast Guide!

Your weekly guide to the best of Bristol's independent food scene.

It's been another busy week in the world of food here in Bristol. We've seen a local favourite finally get the recognition it deserves, an exciting new spot preparing to open its doors in Clifton, and a whole host of food and drink festivals to look forward to as summer continues.

New Openings and Recent Reviews

Table Five by Cappadocia: The team behind the popular Turkish restaurant on Baldwin Street are expanding. Their new venture, Table Five by Cappadocia, is set to bring their authentic Turkish cuisine to a prime spot on Whiteladies Road in Clifton. We hear the soft launch is on Monday, 21st July. One to book, for sure.

Fi Real: Bristol24/7 published a glowing review this week of this vegan Caribbean spot in Old Market. After more than ten years of trading, it seems they're still at the top of their game, with their food being described as "healthy and soulful comfort food." The juicy, salty kale was singled out for particular praise.

Snobby's: A recent review from the Edible Reading food blog details a visit to this Chandos Road Italian wine bar and restaurant. While the food, including a burrata with a "bright array of red, yellow and green" tomatoes, was praised, the reviewer noted an unusually early kitchen closing time, which led to a rushed experience. An interesting read on a popular local spot.

Local Highlight: Bianchis

It's official. The readers of Bristol Live have crowned Bianchis in Montpelier as the city's best restaurant. It's no surprise to anyone who has had the pleasure of dining there. Part of the esteemed Bianchis Group, which also includes Pasta Ripiena, Cotto, and Pazzo, this York Road establishment has become a cornerstone of Bristol's Italian food scene.

The restaurant, which describes its ethos as "honest cooking," serves up a refined menu inspired by Northern Italian cuisine. The focus is on quality ingredients that speak for themselves, combined with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. From their perfectly executed pasta dishes to their carefully selected wine list, a meal at Bianchis is always a memorable experience. This accolade is thoroughly deserved and a testament to the hard work and passion of the entire team.
