A Cheltenham Road Italian, North Street's New Bakery & A Horfield Pub Reopening

La Totti Cafe: A new independent Italian cafe is set to open soon on the junction of Cheltenham Road and Cromwell Road. Promising "fast, fresh, famiglia," they'll be serving ciabattas, focaccias, and paninis in the former Shake, Wrap and Roll site.

The Park Bakery: Following their success on St John’s Lane, The Park Bakery has officially opened its second site at 49 North Street in Bedminster. To celebrate their first week, they are offering £2 coffees until this Thursday (November 6th).

Maxi Lounge: A new Cue Sports Club, Maxi Lounge, has just opened. They are collaborating with local independents, featuring a wine list from Corks of Cotham and food from The Falcon Steakhouse and I Scream Taco.

The Shield & Dagger: Good news for Whitchurch. The pub on East Dundry Road is reopening under new management (Brendan & Lisa) after a full makeover. They are hosting a relaunch party this Friday, November 7th, from 7:30pm with live music and samples from their new pizza menu.

Fat Dads Kitchen: Local blogger @jackeatseverythingg gave a rave review for their current residency at The Gallimaufry on Gloucester Road. 'The Schmokie' burger was called "absolutely outstanding," with high praise also going to the parmesan tater tots ("crispy balls of perfection") and the black garlic mayo.

Squeezed: Food blogger @hangryfoodfinder visited Squeezed in Wapping Wharf and was full of praise for the 'Reverse Cowgirl' burger, describing it as a "delicious mix of flavours, all very well balanced." The ancho chilli salt fries were also noted as "top quality."

Steak & Wine at Cave, A KASK Flight Night & The Christmas Market Opens

Steak Tartare & Pinot Noir Evening at Cave (Nov 4th): Join the Bishopston wine bar for a deep dive into Pinot Noir's many moods, from bright cherry notes to silken, earthy classics. They'll be pouring a curated flight spanning old-world elegance and new-world flair, paired with hand-chopped steak tartare to showcase why the two are such a natural pairing. The event is £45.

Games Night at Wiper and True (Nov 4th): The Old Market Taproom is hosting a free social gaming night with @replay_bristol (6pm - 9pm). It's designed for meeting new people through "speed gaming" rounds. No tickets are needed.

Flight Night: Low-Intervention English Wine at KASK² (Nov 6th): KASK is launching 'FLIGHT NIGHT', a new tasting series at their KASK² site on Cheltenham Road. This week features winemaker Ben Walgate, with glasses of top English wine available for just £6.

Bristol Christmas Market (Nov 7th): The main market returns to Broadmead this Friday, running until December 23rd. Expect the usual festive stalls, food, and drink.

Final 'First Friday' BBQ from Big Nath's (Nov 7th): This is the last chance for one of Big Nath's monthly 'FIRST FRIDAY' cookouts this year. Pre-orders are open (but closing soon!) for slow-smoked brisket, pulled pork, venison sausages and more. Collection from their Backwell HQ.

Racks 'Ski Lodge' Opening (Nov 7th): The alpine-themed lodge at Racks in Clifton returns for the winter. The launch event features free wine tastings, free nibbles, and a free photo booth. Book a table to join.

'A Mushroom Dinner' at Dongnae (Nov 12th): Dongnae on Chandos Road is hosting a special mushroom-themed dinner with Bristol-local food writer Claire Thomson (@5oclockapron), inspired by her new book. Tickets are available to book now at £55pp.

Local Highlight

Daily Noodles

Many of us were gutted when Daily Noodles had to leave their long-standing St Nicks site. Their employee-owned business has been a staple for lunchtime queues, serving up brilliant, fresh, and authentic daily curries. They've continued serving from their spot at Cargo, but the loss of the city centre site was properly felt.

Now, the team has launched a crowdfunder to help them secure and build their next chapter: a new, permanent site. They are looking for support from the Bristol food community to help them get this new location up and running. As a thank you for supporting the campaign, they're offering 6 months of exclusive discounts at their Cargo site and at the new location once it opens. It's a great chance to support a fantastic local, employee-owned independent.
