Local Highlight

Big Nath's BBQ

If you're looking for a true Bristol success story, look no further than Big Nath's BBQ. After 15 years as a construction site manager, Nath used the lockdown to pursue his lifelong dream of being a chef. He taught himself the art of the pitmaster, perfecting what would become his award-winning signature BBQ sauce. Together with his partner Kinsey, who handles the organisational side, they’ve become a formidable team. Their journey started in a dark kitchen in Old Market in 2021 and has since grown into a beloved fixture on the street food circuit, a testament to their hard graft and the incredible support from the Bristol indie community.

Their ethos is all about proper, Texan-style BBQ, handcrafted with the best local produce. The high-welfare meat comes from the fantastic Dave Giles butchers on Gloucester Road, and the bread from fellow local business, Pano Bakehouse. Using electric pellet smokers with a combination of hickory, maple, and cherrywood gives their food its ultimate smoky flavour. While they've expanded to supper clubs and even a BBQ school, the classic brisket will always be on the menu, slathered in that sauce where it all began. Expect slow-cooked, smoky, and generous portions every time. If you want to catch them soon, they'll be at the MABON festival at Caldicot Castle at the end of the month.

That’s it for this week.
