The Glassboat Goes To Arbor Ales: The Glassboat has changed hands. 6 O'clock Gin's three years on board are over, and the barge is heading to Arbor Ales after a renovation. There's no reopening date yet, just a promise of updates and "absolutely banging beer". You'll still be able to get a 6 O'clock G&T on board once it's back.

Danny's Burgers Lands At Shredenhams: Danny's Burgers are moving into Shredenhams, and the window decal is already up. Shredenhams reckon they're Bristol's best alternative venue and that this makes them better. No opening date, no menu, just "details to follow".

Two Bristol Pubs In The Good Beer Guide: Kings Head in Redcliffe and The Good Measure in Redland are both in the 2027 edition of CAMRA's Good Beer Guide. Same team behind both, and both through in the same year.

German Wine And Cheese At KASK (30th Sept): KASK start their autumn wine and cheese tastings with an Oktoberfest night on Wednesday 30th September at KASK on North Street, repeated Thursday 8th October at KASK². Five German wines, only one of them a Riesling, and cheese alongside. Orange Wednesday follows on 7th October, then New Wave South Africa on 21st and 28th October.

A Canadian Thanksgiving By The River (2nd Oct - 4th Oct): Beeses close for the winter after this weekend, and they're finishing with a Canadian Thanksgiving dinner on the Sunday. Friday brings pirate folk-rock from Piratitude at 8pm, and Saturday is a Forest and Water masquerade ball with live music from 1pm and a prize for best dressed. The Bristol Packet runs to the door, 5.45pm on the Sunday.

Welsh Wine At Adelina Yard (8th Oct): Adelina Yard are hosting an Ancré Hill winemakers dinner on Thursday 8th October. The Monmouth estate are bringing a selection of their wines up, with Adelina Yard's food built to pair with them.

Two Hundred Stalls At Wells (11th Oct): Wells Food Festival runs Sunday 11th October, 10.30am to 4.30pm, with over 200 stalls of food, drink, street food and homewares. The artisan market is the bulk of it, and Swan Green holds the English wine marquee, with Aldwick Estate, Oatley, Bride Valley, Monkhide, Road Green and Bluestone pouring and the vineyard owners there to talk to, plus spirits, beer and more street food alongside. There's a Food for Thought area on food issues as well, and a children's zone with cookery workshops and a trail.

Lasagne And Tiramisu On Christmas Steps (11th Oct): Pasta Boys are popping up at The Scrandit on Sunday 11th October for Square Sunday, from 12.30pm until they sell out. It's lasagne and tiramisu, and that's the whole menu.

Latte Art Masterclass In Redland (12th Oct): Burra on Lower Redland Road are running a latte art masterclass on Monday 12th October, 5pm to 7pm. Two hours on milk frothing and pouring, hearts through to rosettas, with practice time and feedback from their baristas. It's £50 and there are only six tickets.

Caper & Cure Cook With Farro (15th Oct): The MAZI Project's next At The Table dinner brings Caper & Cure and Farro Bakery into their Bedminster community kitchen on Thursday 15th October. It's a surprise three course sharing menu, served banquet style, and every ticket funds MAZI's work with 16 to 25 year olds.

DJ BBQ Joins Big Nath For Christmas (12th Dec): Big Nath's BBQ Skool in Backwell have three festive classes on. The big one is DJ BBQ joining Nath on Saturday 12th December for a day of live fire cooking, hands-on demos and a very large feast, at £195 a head. There's also a Festive BBQ class on two dates at £160, doing smoked turkey, glazed ham and pigs in blankets, and Get Smoked For Christmas Day on Wednesday 23rd December at £180, where you cook ahead and take it home.
